I’m proud to be a member of the Rotary Club of Marshall, AR. I’m proud because WE are mission driven and committed to the Rotary ideal of “Service above Self.” I’m proud because WE are a group of people with different backgrounds, talents and philosophies seeking common ground. I’m proud because WE are dedicated to taking action for the betterment of our community and our world.

WE are and WE do these things with a spirit of fellowship, fun and personal growth.

It is a time to be inspired by our past and look forward to what we can accomplish in the future. Come be a part of this experience. Make a difference in the world. Make a difference in your community. Make a difference in yourself.

There are between six and eighteen people who meet for lunch each Friday in Marshall. They do not meet to do themselves any good, unless it is for fellowship, but to help others. They are the Marshall Rotary Club, part of an international organization that does good throughout the world, currently in eradicating polio. Locally they fund the Single Parent Scholarship Program and the Weaver High School College scholarships for graduating seniors. They distribute dictionaries to all third grade students in Searcy County and the Club funds the Healthy Smiles Program for dental health for all first graders in Searcy County. They participate in the Marshall Elementary School food backpack program, the Recovery Drug Rehabilitation Program and the Drug Take-Back Program. The Rotary Club contributes to the Searcy County Literacy Council, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library that provides books for children from birth to five years old and the Searcy County premium Youth Livestock Sale for young people raising livestock. They put on the Marshall Alumni pancake breakfast and have put up Welcome to Marshall signs on Highway 65 north and south of town and on Highway 27. On the whole that is quite a contribution for just a handful of people who meet once a week. What do they get out of it? A warm feeling for having helped others. There's plenty of room, and we'll save you a seat - come join us!
